A wildfire named the WAGNER ROAD FIRE is burning in the area of Ewan and Rock Lake in Colfax (Whitman County), Washington State.

The incident has prompted approval via the Washington State Patrol’s Fire Marshal’s Office for the immediate dispatch of State Mobe resources across the State of Washington to respond to the area.

Listed in the wildcad.net system, you would have never guessed that this would have State Mobe resources (order) being activated for an immediate life and safety response. On the wildcad.net system, it is only showing one acre burned and two resources dispatched which include BC 52 and E62 on the scene.

However, there is much more worry about, with an urgent need to get additional resources there across the State on the scene as soon as possible. The FMO states the fire is approximately 1,000 to 2,000 acres and growing rapidly and prompting a Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation due to a life and property safety threat to homes, agricultural lands, and infrastructure.

Multiple State Mobe resources are on several large incident wildfires in our state, Canada, and in other areas as needed.

Other Incident Cooperators on this incident, include the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, WA Fire Marshal Office, Washington State Patrol, Whitman County Office of Emergency Management, and local and county reosurces.

Wagner Road Fire in 2022

On August 18, 2022, a wildfire broke out in the same vicinity burning about 7,381 acres and being designed with the same name. Just like last year, the fire had State Mobe resources which were dispatched to the fire line. In one of the posts on last year’s Social Media, you can see East Pierce Fire & Rescue members working on a Strike Team with a Mason County Strike Team extremely hard to suppress the grass fire.
