INCIDENT SUMMARY:

The RABBIT FIRE, one of three burning near one another continues to burn on this Saturday, where additional areas and roads have now been closed, according to Fire Officials. Additional other activities have also occurred since our last update.

The fire started on July 14, 2023, at 1530 PT from an unknown cause which is being investigated by Fire officials.

EVACUATIONS:

As of 7/15/2023 1012 PT (CAL FIRE/RCFD) Mandatory Evacuations

  • East of Bridge Street
  • North of Gilman Springs Road
  • West of Hwy 79
  • South of Lamb Canyon Road
  • Lamb Canyon Landfill

The Evacuation Warning for Gilman Springs Road has been lifted.

CLOSED:

  • Hwy 79/Lamb Canyon between California Avenue and Gilman Springs Roads
  • Lamb Canyon Landfill closed

CURRENT STATUS:

Evacuations are in effect and remain as of this morning’s update. It is currently listed at 4,500 acres with a 5% containment status.
