SIT REP 1: Sunday, August 13, 2023, 1215 PT

A wildfire named the BEN HARRISON FIRE was sparked by an undetermined cause was reported on August 11, 2023, at 1529 hours, is burning about 20 miles west of Sumpter near the Ben Harrison Ridge and about 10 miles northeast of John Day in Oregon (USA).

Active fire behavior has been observed. The fire has burned about 93 acres of timber and the fire currently is listed with a 0% containment status.

A Type 2 IMT (NW Team 8) is mobilizing. They had an in brief today at noon and will be assuming the fire command on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 0600 hours.
