SANDY, OREGON — The Camp Creek Fire ignited yesterday August 25, 2023, and is burning 10 miles NE of Sandy in the Mt. Hood National Forest. It is also located 1.5 miles south of Bull Run Reservoir #1 near the junction of Forest Road 1210 and Forest Road 12.

The Camp Creek Fire was reported early Friday morning in the Bull Run Watershed. The Forest and fire

personnel are working closely with the Portland Water Bureau to protect infrastructure and coordinate fire

The GB Team 1, a CIMT is currently mobilizing. There have been about 225 acres of timber, closed timber litter, and brush which was sparked by lightning. It has a 0% containment status. There is active fire behavior observed along with isolated torching, single tree torching, and spotting. Infrastructure is under threat. Estimated containment is slated for 10/31/2023. There are 108 total personnel with 4 crews, 4 engines, and 3 helicopters.

Evacuations: None – Fire Managers

There are currently no evacuation areas and no public impacts. Sites along Hwy. 26 are not impacted, but folks will likely see smoke.
