9/2/2023 Saturday Fire Update

The Camp Creek Fire started on 8/25/2023 after lightning sparked several new starts in the area. This is one of many.

Today, the fire has burned approximately 1,869 acres of timber, closed timber litter and brush, and has an 11% containment status. Fire behavior has been reduced to minimum activity with creeping and smoldering being observed. Water infrastructure is under threat at the moment.

Fire Operations: Crews will reinforce the dozer line and handline along the northeast corner to the south edge of the fire in the coming days. Additionally, they will complete additional firing operations when conditions allow. Firefighters are continuing to scout the eastern side of the fire for the opportunity to create a solid dozer line in the rough terrain.

Restrictions in effect
Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR): There is a TFR over the fire area and public drone use is illegal. Illegal drone use in a TFR area can halt air resource support on the fire potentially putting land, homes, and other values at risk of fire.

CTD: $5.7 Million.
