Personnel working with NV Energy are conducting project operations during the week of November 13-18, 2023, with their helicopters on Spooner Summit which is being conducted to help reduce wildfire risks around their powerlines and corridors.

The project consists of brush treatments in forest corridors adjacent to the Nevada Energy transmission power lines to improve wildlife habitat, forest health, and fuel reduction. This is said to cover about 5,300 acres.

This project is ongoing on the east side of the Lake Tahoe Basin area within Nevada in the Carson Ranger District and Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit.

Traffic delays in this area are expected to occur.
