Three volunteer fire agencies in Stevens County, Washington have formed a new single multi-agency technical rope rescue team.

The group is in the baby stages of training with their ultimate goal to provide technical rope rescue capabilities from low angle to vertical, according to their Social Media pages.

Who are the group’s members?

SCFD#4

The SCFD#4 is located in Valley, Washington (the eastern portion of our State), and is managed by three Fire Commissioners, a Fire Chief, and an Assistant Chief staffed by volunteer firefighters.

It provides fire prevention, suppression, and emergency medical services, wildfire response as well as, protection of life and property. Additionally, they provide mutual assistance upon request.

SCFD#5

The SCFD#5 is located in Addy, Washington, which is a rural fire agency with a total of five (5) fire stations throughout the County.

Chewelah FD

This third Fire agency is also an all-volunteer firefighters staffed department. They are located in Chewelah, Washington.

The Fire Department is led by Fire Chief Josh Duke.
