CALIFORNIA (USA) — A Wind Advisory and High Wind Warning went into effect last night with a Flood Watch also in effect. The coastline and higher elevations of North Bay were also upgraded to a High Wind Warning. It was to last until today but it appears the storm is just getting started.

State of Emergency Declared: The CA Gov. Gavin Newsom declared earlier today, a State of Emergency for eight counties (LA, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura) in Southern California to support storm response and recovery efforts.

Flash Flood Warning in effect from 2/4/2024 1458 PST until 2/5/2024 midnight for parts of San Luis Obispo County. Issued by NOAA.

Evacuations in effect: Along La Tuna Canyon Road within the Foothill Trails District/Shadow Hills area. These areas are being given as they have a HIGH possibility of a debris flow that may be triggered by heavy rain from the storm from today through Tuesday. There is an increased risk of significant flooding, mudslides, and sediment flow due to the burn scars left by the Land Fire in 2022.

City of LA: The City of Los Angeles has directed her Office of Housing and Homelessness Solutions to increase the interim shelter and vouchers ahead of today’s weather warnings. Just before 0700 hours this morning, reports of high winds were being received by the Fire District, as well as trees coming down all over the County. As of 1545 hours, the winds have really picked up within the last two hours.

At around 1534 hours, it was reported of power outages in the City of Stockton and wind gusts at 54 miles per hour at the airport.
