SEATTLE (KING COUNTY), WASHINGTON — Seattle Firefighters with equipment and personnel were dispatched to a water rescue call for reports of two windsurfers struggling approximately one-half mile offshore in the 300 block of Lake Washington Boulevard.
There were 14 different units dispatched to the scene which included: Aid 14, Battalions 2 and 5, Engines 34, 5, 6 and the SFD Fire Boat (FIREBOAT), Ladders 1 and 3, Medic 10, along with Patrol 4, Rescue 1 and RB5 and additionally with Safety 2 Command Staff.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and made contact with the two windsurfers to find out they were not in duress. All units were quickly put back into service, waiting for the next call.
The initial response was noted occurring today at 1520 hours PsT.
