Firefighters responded this morning to a boat fire near the Tyee Marina in northeast Tacoma, Washington State.

The boat’s occupants were rescued by firefighters who were said to be in the water at the time of the extraction, while crews working on putting out the fire.

Around 1021 hours, firefighters had the fire knocked down and fire investigators were working to seek out the cause when it was safe for them to do so.

No injuries to the occupants or firefighters were reported.

Smoke could be seen all around Commencement Bay.
