SEATTLE (KING COUNTY), Washington State – As usual, there seem to be many fires breaking out in the Big Skyline City. Here is a comprised list of some major events that have occurred in the first six days of July 2024.

The Fire Alarm Center began receiving multiple 9-1-1 at 0053 hours with those reporting smoke and flames coming from the structure in the Eastlake community.

First-due firefighters reported flames through the roof and requested a second alarm dispatching more than 70 firefighters and equipment to the scene. Due to the high heat, flames, and unsafe conditions, firefighters would fight the fire from the exterior, known as a defensive fire strategy.

As it became more evident, firefighters were moved away from the fire building into a safe zone and good thing because the roof began to collapse about one hour into the firefighting efforts and the sheer high volume of water being poured over the structure.

An Alert Seattle message was sent out to area residents to encourage them to keep their windows and doors closed due to the heavy smoke hanging low in the area.

Firefighters would work throughout the early morning hours and were able to fully put it out. Marshal 5, the Fire Department’s Fire Investigator did not release a preliminary cause of the fire. It is currently under investigation.

No firefighters or civilians were said to be injured from this incident.
