Fifteen Firefighters Prepare to Graduate from Fire Training Academy

State Fire Marshal Charles M. Duffy announced that 15 firefighters are preparing to graduate from the Washington State Patrol Fire Training Academy, North Bend, Washington. Graduation will be held on Friday July 27, 2012, at the Criminal Justice Training Center, 19010 First Avenue S., Burien, WA 98148. Ceremony begins at 10:00 am.
On May 3, 2012, 15 recruits started the 12-week Recruit Academy that meets National Fire Protection Association 1001 Standard for Firefighter Professional Qualifications at the Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Levels. Graduating firefighters have learned basic fire service principles through classroom instruction and rigorous hands-on live fire training.
The following fire departments and districts are represented in the upcoming graduating class:

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is a Bureau of the Washington State Patrol, providing fire and life safety services to the citizens
of Washington State including inspections of state licensed facilities, plan review of school construction projects, licensing of fire
sprinkler contractors and pyrotechnic operators, training Washington States firefighters, and collecting emergency response data.
