We originally wrote about the Obstacles that Everett Firefighters were facing in their Washington city on May 12, 2012, “Everett Firefighters Face Preventable Obstacles.” Check out our original posting.
Here’s an update to our May story:
“Keep Public Safety First!
Everett Fire Department’s daily staffing is now lower than it was in 1969! Imposed staffing reductions through “Brown-Outs” impact our operations as well as the safety of our members and community. These reductions put neighborhoods at risk and stand in the way of our ability to deal with real life-and-death emergencies.
COUNCIL BILL #CB1001-05 WAS CLEAR:
“WHEREAS,…
In the best interest of the public health, safety, and general welfare it is deemed necessary and advisable to restore the City’s emergency medical services property tax levy capacity to its previously approved rate of fifty cents ($0.50) per one thousand ($1,000) assessed valuation in order to maintain and improve emergency medical services.”
HELP US – HELP YOU! Call, e-mail or write your mayor and council members. Tell them that public safety is a priority and demand the protection and service you pay for and deserve!!
