It is with great sadness to announce the death of one of Seattle Fire’s beloved Firefighters, Jessie “Jess” Hernandez on Wednesday, March 20th, from his short battle with cancer.
Hernandez was a Driver/Firefighter on Engine 24 for the last 14 years and previously on Engine 8. He was known to his fellow brothers and sisters, as dedicated to his wife, being honest, even keeled, soft-spoken and having a great sense of humor.
Due to the unfortunate passing of firefighters from this earth on to their next journey, wherever that may be – Firefighter Hernandez family, friends, fire family and those who deeply care for him, will have a chance once again to celebrate his life and his memory remembering the many great things he accomplished and lived for, as a firefighter and as a family man.
A Memorial Service for Seattle Fire’s Firefighter Jessie “Jess” Hernandez will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2013, at 1300 Hours, at the Christ Our Hope Church, located on Second Avenue and Stewart Street, Seattle. Located on the ground floor inside the Josephium Hotel.
“We offered our Sincere Sympathies and Support to Firefighter Hernandez’s immediate and fire family, friends and those who loved him much. We are truly sorry for your loss. – Lisa Swenson/The NW Fire Blog.”
