Conrad Fire – Okanogan – Wenatchee National Fire – Near Cle Elum, Washington.

Started:  8/9/13.  As of today is 30% contained.

Acres: 1,066.

Cause:  Lightning.

Location: 8 miles S. of Rimrock Lake and 35 miles SW of Naches.

Resources:  87 reduced from 116.  0 serious injuries reported.  2 hand crews, 4 engines, 5 watertenders, 0 dozers, 2 Type II (medium) and 1 Type III (light) helos.

Closures: (Roads) Nat’l Forest Service Roads – 1000, 1204, 1205, 1200-725, 1070.  (Trails) Bear Creek Mtn Trail #1130 and Conrad Meadows.  (Areas) Rimrock Peninsula Recreation Area including the boat launch is closed. There is no access from the 1200 road onto the 1200-711, 1200-712, 1200-713, 1200-714, 1200-715, 1200-716, 1200-725, and 1200-653 roads.

Fire Status:  Hasn’t grown much. It is stuck in the rocks and wet areas.
