Fairbanks, Alaska | University Fire Department – In 1964 the student firefighters in Hess Hall first moved into the Fire Hall at UAF. Thus, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the resident student firefighter program.
To celebrate and commemorate this important milestone, we are planning an exciting reunion weekend this summer. In addition, we have created a web site to memorialize our now-famous Wall of Fame in the Fire Hall. This message includes all the details you need to know to start making your plans!
Agenda and Activities
- Catered barbecue dinner and social gathering at the UAF Campus Fire Hall
- All UaFD Alumni are invited to walk or ride together in the Golden Days Parade
- Picnic lunch at our University Avenue Fire Station (off campus) and skills/drills demonstration
- Group photo
- 3-Hour Dinner Cruise on the Riverboat Discovery ( http://riverboatdiscovery.com/ ) featuring live music
- Optional golf outing at Fairbanks Golf Course ( http://www.fairbanksgolfcourse.com/ )
o Fly to Anchorage (ANC) a day ahead of time and travel by Alaska Railroad to Fairbanks (http://alaskarailroad.com/Reservations/ ). This is one of the most scenic ways to enjoy Alaska!

ALL UNIVERSITY (ALASKA) FIRE DEPARTMENT ALUMNI
The University (Alaska) Fire Department is creating an alumni website and we need your help!
We are constructing an online facsimile of the “Wall of Fame” currently in our fire station that features the names of past alumni. The online version will expand to include information on you and former UFD/UAFD members.
In order for us to create this website, we need to gather information about you. Below is a link to a document. Please fill out the document and return it to us via email. Feel free to be as detailed as you want, we would love to hear what everyone has been up to!
We would also appreciate a past and present photo in a .jpg format.
Please spread the word about this project to former UFD/UAFD alumni we have lost contact with and you may know their whereabouts.
