LOGGING UNIT FIRES – Update 7/20/14 Sunday

Fire Designators and Acreage Burned:

Skyline – 40 acres.  Haily Butte – 107 acres.  Camas Prairie – 3519 acres.  Logging Unit – 325 acres.  Bear Butte 2 – 3337 acres.

PNW 2 is managing the portion of the Bear Butte 2 Fire [originally named 318 Fire] which is located on the Warm Springs Tribal Lands.

Cause of Fires:  Ligthning

Location of Fires:  25 miles NW of Warm Springs, OR.

Announcements:  Continued fire activity on SE flank of Camas Prairie Fire, it was recommended by the Pacific NW Team 2 to the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs to issue a Level 2 Notification as being necessary.  This was issued as of 0830 this morning.

The Warm Springs Tribal Police will issue the notifications. 

Notifications will be issued to the Tribal Leaders in the following area:

East of Sidwalter Lookout, Sidwalter Buttes and Old Mill camp to Hwy 26; the B180 on the north and the B130 on the South; east to Hwy 26, including several residences to the east of the Highway and two residences south on Hwy 26 in the Mill Creek Viewpoint area.

A Level 2 Notification:  alerts tribal members to be prepared to leave on a moment’s notice.
