Santa Fe, New Mexico

A wildfire is slowly burning Ponderosa pine, aspen, mixed conifer, grass and brush since lightning passed over the area on June 5, 2015. The fire located 13 miles East of Pecos and 2 miles S of Banillas Peak in the Pecos / Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest.
There are currently 30 personnel on scene including a Type 2 Atalaya handcrew, one Type 2 bull dozer, firefighters, archeologists, PIOs, fire effects monitors and resource advisors.
No structures are threatened at this time.
Fire Managers are allowing the fire to move and watching it closely. The fire has burned 127 acres. The growth potential has been deemed low.
There is a 0% containment status on this fire event.
