The fire is being managed by a Type 3 IMT and is currently under control with 1815 acres of the expected 5000 acres. This is one of many, where the fire is eating away at hazards that will eventually bring back to a healthy state for the environment and the animals that feed in the area.
The fire is creeping and smoldering and burning pine needle. Wet weather has aided firefighters stopping the scorching of larger brush.
Smoke is reportedly being seen from Highways 20, 87; I-17; Towns: Paxson, Pine, Strawberry, Blue Ridge and Verde Valley.
