Date / Time: The fire was discovered on May 7th, Saturday around 1300 hours.
Cause: It has been ruled as being ignited by lightning.
Location: Located in Guadalupe Mountains National Park area of the Guadalupe National Park in Salt Flat, TX.
RESOURCES
Air Support: Assigned to this event are 1 lead plane, 3 heavy Air tankers, 1 Type 3 Helicopter and a Smokey Bear Interagency Hotshot Crew. An additional Hotshot crew was flown in this morning.
Additional Resources: An additional request for the Pecos Type 3 IMT and 2 additional Hotshot crews have been placed.
FIRE STATUS
Acres: 200-300 acres. (Estimation)
Fire Behavior: Active. Heading South into Park.
Air Resources: All air support was suspended due to turbulence.
Tactics: The Smoke Bear Interagency Hotshot crew is primarily focusing on containing the Northern perimeter.
Command: The ICP will be located in Queen, NM.
