#CowboyFire | Coconino Natl Forest – AZ | Sit Rep 1

Incident Summary

Lightning passed over the Coconino Forest near Flagstaff, Arizona causing two fires but we are reporting this #CowboyFire separately from the #MormonFire.  The #CowboyFire was ignited on May 15, 2016, around midnight.

Resources

Currently, this small fire is burning in one acre of land being monitored by a single Flagstaff Hotshot Crew and one Type 3 Engine with a total of 25 personnel.

Fire Tactics

Fire Managers are going to allow this fire to burn off heavy fire fuels, such as the ponderosa pine forest, heavy dead pine needles, grass and forest timber to continue.  It is currently smoldering and has visible small flame lengths, as well as creeping.

The fire can be seen from those near I-117, where the it is at about Mile Post 331 on the east side of the freeway and approximately eight (8) miles South of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Command 

This fire is under command of a Type 4 Management Team.
