INCIDENT SUMMARY
The Rail Fire began on the Wallowa-Whitman NF, located 5 miles West of Unity, OR, burning in timber from an unknown cause. It is currently under investigation.
The fire behavior is currently moderate with single tree torching, running and backing.
SIZE AND CONTAINMENT
About 12,196 acres have been consumed but fire crews have successfully reached a 10% containment status.

Fire fuels consist of: Bug-killed lodge pole pine, standing dead & down.
RESOURCES
There are 667 personnel with the aid of 21 crews, 10 bulldozers, 21 engines, 19 water tenders and 8 helicopters assigned to this incident.
DAMAGE ASSESSMENT
There have been no structural / property damage claims filed/reported, however the cost-to-date is currently at $7.9 Million.
