NEWLY REPORTED WILDFIRES | Sept 11 2016

As time allows, we are adding new postings about a variety of topics including this one.  Here are the latest newly reported or brand new wildfires that we have found.

Willard Fire – Lassen Nation Forest (CA)

This wildfire started today that is located off of Willard Creek Road, west of Susanville (Lassen Co) is now 800 acres. Mandatory evacuations for Cheney Creek near Hwy 36 are in progress.   Around 1245 hours, Media reported the fire to be 15-20acres, MROS-RROS, reports of heavy spotting. large Resource order. Boys Fire – Sacramento County (CA)

This wildfire started today located in the 14000 block of Boys Ranch Road in

Sacramento County, California.  The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews quickly stopped this from spreading further than the contained 40-acre fire. (CAL FIRE)

Howard Gulch Fire – N of Canby – Modoc County (CA)

Firefighters were battling a small 60-acre fire around 1600 hours ago in Howards Gulch, north of Canby (Modoc County) in California.  (CAL FIRE)

Ruff Fire – North of Laytonville – Mendocino County (CA)

The Ruff is burning off of Hwy 101 and Woodruff Rd, north of Laytonville.  It is currently 50 acres with a 75% containment status. (CAL FIRE)

Rock Creek Fire – Near Rock Creek Road, Yakima (WA)

The Rock Creek Fire started 9/10/2016 in the afternoon. Forest service helicopters

were dropping water just before dusk yesterday.  As of 1600 hours, there still was a Level 2 evacuation advisory in place.  A Type 2 resources have been requested.

Mt. Tolman Fire – South / Southeast of Elmer City (WA)

A fast-moving wildfire has been reported burning on the Colville Indian Reservation that is managed by the Mt. Tolman Fire Center.  Area Levels 1 and 2 evacuation orders were issued at 1530 hours.  Winds were said to be 16 mph and gusting to 20 mph. Grant County Fire District 13 resources are en route @ 1734 Hours PDT.
