UPDATE 1 – APRIL 8, 2017 – 2238 PDT / 0138 EDT

A fire broke out at the Tuck-It-Away Self Storage on Saturday, April 8, 2017.  Heavy fire greeted firefighters from the second floor of the six-floor commercial building.  It was quickly elevated to a 2nd Alarm and later to a 3rd Alarm.

The fire is located on the 100 block of E 138th Street in Queens/Bronx of NYC, New York.

All personnel that were inside the building were told to evacuate.  A roll call [PAR] was completed by Command.  All personnel were accounted for.

One additional Tower Ladder [Ladder 44] was requested at 0128 Hours EDT [2228 Hours PDT] They were told to access the fire ground from 140th Street on to Walton Street on to Exposure 3 side and were assigned to Battalion 2.

The fire was still in exterior operations and are using Towers [Ladders]

Another Tower [L9 acting as L14] was requested at 0134 EDT.  They were requested to access the same route and after they arrive, to stand by for instructions.

Exterior operations are ongoing.
