Incident Summary – A fast-moving and well-established wildfire is burning on the West side of Castaic Lake on the shoreline (as seen in the above photo) in Castaic (Los Angeles County) and north of Santa Clarita in California.

Resources – 2  #CDF S-2 Tankers 72 & 73 were on-scene. A strike team was requested and to meet on I-5 as part of staging.  LA County Fire Ops (helicopters) are working in conjunction with LA County ground firefighters.

Conditions – Access to the fire is difficult and firefighters are having to go to Temple Highway and go through the power plant.  Head of the fire was visible from Torrey Peak south of Piru.

Fire Behavior – The shoreline fire has destroyed 3-5 acres with moderate rate of spread (ROS) with spotting. Fire is now threatening SR8 and structures in this area.
