LAUREL PARK FIRE – NEAR DEER PARK, WASHINGTON

INCIDENT SUMMARY
A wildfire broke out on the afternoon of Monday, July 25, 2017, prompting fire resources to be dispatched from several agencies. The cause is unknown at this time and is being investigated.
LOCATION
The incident is located about 4 miles East of Deer Park and burning close to Hwy 2 near Laurel Road; North of Chattaroy in Spokane County, Washington.
RESOURCES
Fire personnel and resources on-scene from DNR, SCFD4, SCSO, WSP, SCFD1 .

SIZE
The fire has now scorched about 60 acres of land.
Air resources are making a good knockdown on the wildfire.
EVACUATION SHELTER
A Red Cross shelter was opened at the Riverside Elementary School.
CLOSURES
Hwy 2 will be closed for a few more hours to allow firefighting personnel and equipment to continue to work the fire.
A detour is in place, says the Washington State Patrol.
Fire Officials would like to remind you to be careful when driving and fire equipment is in the area. Also, remember there are #NoDronesInFireZones. When you fly, they can’t.
