KAMLOOPS, BC – A wildfire named the Allie Lake Fire is located approximately 55 km or a little over 34 miles from Kamloops, BC was discovered on Wednesday, May 23rd.
The active wildfire is said to be out-of-control and is heading N-NE and is not a current threat to the City of Kamloops. However, the City and its Fire Department are closely monitoring the incident and in communications with the BC Wildfire Services.
Fire is near the 2017 Elephant Hill wildfire’s perimeter.
The fire is producing a large amount of smoke which is visible from several communities across a vast amount of areas.
As of yesterday, there were 23 firefighters from the BC Wildfire services agency along with helicopters and air tankers.
