INCIDENT SUMMARY

A wildfire is burning in the military zone managed by the Alaska Fire Service that started on DOD land, about 10 miles southwest of Delta Junction.

FIRE STATUS

About 14,265 acres of tall grass, medium logging slash timber have all been destroyed. There is a 32% containment status reached by fire crews.

Active fire behavior has been reported along with wind-driven runs, backing and flanking.

RESOURCES

There are a total of 130 personnel, which include four crews and two helicopters.

The Alaska Green Team, an IMT-2 team is managing this fire incident.

COST-TO-DATE

Currently, the total cost of fire suppression and containment efforts have reached $1,000,000.00.

FIRE STATS

As of this post, there were 10 new wildfires reported since Friday with one Type 2 IMT committed for the Alaska area.
