INCIDENT SUMMARY

The CAMERON PEAK FIRE is burning in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and on the Pawnee National Grasslands.

Ignited from an unknown source, it was reported on August 13, 2020.

It is located about 15 miles northwest of Redfeather Lakes (Larimer County) in the beautiful State of Colorado (USA).

Command is comprised of the NW IMT Team 6 with IC Shawn Sheldon and Deputy ICs Shane Theall and Ken Paul.

CURRENT STATUS

Fire behavior is current active with flanking, group torching and backing.

Crews have reached a 40% containment status after a successful day of making progress with heavy equipment and air support.

FIRE RESPONSE

Currently, assigned are 866 total personnel with 17 crews, 53 engines and 11 helcopters.

DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

There has been 126,164 acres of timber destroyed along with 89 structures.

Cost-to-date for fire suppression and containment efforts have reached $63,100,000.
