AZ Wildfire | Amerind Fire | 1

A wildfire named the AMERIND FIRE started on Saturday around 1524 hours MT in Dragoon, Arizona.

On Saturday afternoon (Day 1), the fire was reported at 30 acres and spreading quickly. Fire behavior was said to be moderate and moving to the northeast. This prompted mandatory evacuations along the Sacred Rock Road, but were lifted later on the same day as fire crews were able to keep fire away from nearby structures.

Incident Cooperators include: AZ State Forestry, Cochise County Sheriff Office, AZ Fire and Medical.

The fire destroyed 269 acres and have successfully reached a 60% containment status. The fire has not moved and crews will continue with mop-up operations.
