FREMONT-WINEMA NATIONAL FOREST — A wildfire named the SYCAN RIVER FIRE is burning about five miles north of Beatty, Oregon on the Chiloquin Ranger District of the USFS – Fremont-Winema National Forest and possibly on private lands but Fire Managers are not quite sure. Locals say the fire is north of the valley near the Sycan Marsh area.
CAUSE — Unknown. Under investigation.
COMMAND — A Type 3 IMT will be taking over Fire command on Monday, May 31st at 0600 hours PT.

SIZE UP — 250 acres of mixed conifer and brush. 0% containment. Fire behavior is very active with wind-driven runs.
