MEDFORD, OREGON

Update 2 | Multiple law enforcement from multiple agencies will be investigating today’s 3-alarm fire incident and will be manning their mobile Command on-site, along with the fire department on fire watch throughout the night. The crash investigation is only beginning and will be continuing overnight until it is has been determined.

Update 1 | A 9-passenger propeller plane crashed in the parking lot adjacent to Airport Chevy just before 1700 hours PT on Sunday, December 5, 2021. The incident is located in the 3000 block of Biddle Road in Medford, Oregon. Fire Command was designated as Airport Chevy Command. Management is under Unified Command with Medford Fire and Medford PD. With explosions and a fiery ball of fire present, it was quickly escalated to a 3rd Alarm fire. A single occupant inside the plane was confirmed killed at the time of the crash. Police did not believe there were any ground personnel injured. All roadways around Airport Chevy were blocked and evacuations were said to have taken place as well. Some citizens were told to shelter-in-place. The crash is under investigation.
