Update 2 – Saturday, 3/12/2022, 1500 hours PT

Incident Summary — The HOLLISTER FIRE is burning about two miles into Hollister Ranch, a 14,400-acre gated residential community that includes a working cattle ranch on the Gaviota Coast in Santa Barbara County, California. The fire was first spotted around 1143 hours this morning, which prompted Santa Barbara County fire crews to be dispatched to near Gaviota State Park on Hollister Ranch Road to what appeared to be a one-half-acre in size fire in moderate to heavy fuels in steep terrain.

Current Status — Fire is currently at 75 acres with a 0% containment status. This is per AA as of 1326 hours PT.

Aviation Resources — IC put in a request for Sunday for one Air Attack, 2 Type-3s and 2 copters of any type. Currently, there are the following resources: Tankers 86, 88,

Incident Cooperators — Montecito FD Type 3 wildland fire engine, E391 as part of the Strike Team 1521C with CSFD, SBC Fire, SMFD, and Lompoc City FD, Cal Trans District 7.

Evacuations in Progress — Alegria and Agua Caliente areas.

1454 — Cal Trans 7 will be manning the road closures.

1439 — An additional air tanker is available and is in the process of being requested.

1435 — IC ordered aircraft for Sunday, 1 air attack, 2 Type 3’s, and 2 copters of any type.

1426 — AA reports the fire is about 75 acres.

1416 — Type 3 teams and divisions en route, will be integrated via Staging into Divisions.

1418 — Heel is at the top of Alegra.
