Update 3 – Saturday, 3/12/2022, 2230 hours PT
Incident Summary — The HOLLISTER FIRE is burning about two miles into Hollister Ranch, a 14,400-acre gated residential community that includes a working cattle ranch on the Gaviota Coast in Santa Barbara County, California. The fire was first spotted around 1143 hours this morning, which prompted Santa Barbara County fire crews to be dispatched to near Gaviota State Park on Hollister Ranch Road to what appeared to be a one-half-acre in size fire in moderate to heavy fuels in steep terrain.
Current Status — Fire has burned 100 acres and crews have reached a 5% containment status. All lines will be staffed with fire crews and heavy equipment during night operations with aircraft resources being deployed again on Sunday morning, March 13th.
Resources — FIRE – Montecito FD, CSFD, SBCFD, SMFD, Lompoc City FD, CalTrans7. Federal Fire resources dispatched through the Los Padres Communications Center include – BC42LPF, Dozer4LPF, E337LPF, and E3421LPF. POLICE – SBSO.
Current Weather Report — (2230 PT) Cloudy skies with temps of 47*F. Precip is 1% with winds at 4 mph and an RH of 40%. Sunday’s forecast is sunny skies with a high temp of 51*F and a low of 37*F and a chance for rain.

Evacuations — Alegria and Agua Caliente. Remain in effect overnight.
The City of Goleta — is monitoring the fire as it is burning in the Alegria Canyon area of Hollister Ranch near the Gaviota Tunnel. It is not threatening the City but this administration is keeping a close eye on the incident. | Updated 3/12/2022 2355 PT
