Update 1 – Friday, June 17, 2022, 2340 PT
Firefighters from Puget Sound Fire and Zone 3 REHAB were dispatched to the 10200 block of SE 240th Street in Renton (King County), Washington State on Friday, June 17, 2022.
Fire is burning near the Fred Meyers, where fire units are accessing from their parking lot.
First-due units reported the structure was partially evacuated and several members were sent to evacuate from the first and second floors.
This is a second-alarm fire response.
Around 1146 hours PT, a water supply was in the middle of being established.
CLOSED – 240th is currently closed due to a water supply across the roadway.

UPDATE 2357 PT — Firefighters switched over to offensive strategy. The water supply was shut down. E372 and E374 were tasked with a primary search of the building on the alpha side. The fire building is said to have been vacant for a really long time. No power should be hooked up to the building. PSE was on the scene to secure the power in case it is still energized. E376 stopped water on the fire and was tasked with face-to-face contact with Command at the Incident Command Post (ICP). Charlie Division was stopping water on the fire.
UPDATE 2355 PT — Firefighters are currently in a defensive fire attack.
There has been no preliminary cause released by Fire Officials at the time of this update.
