INCIDENT SUMMARY
A wildfire is burning in the area of Fairview Avenue and Baptista Canyon Road, near Hemet in Riverside County, California.
The cause is unknown at this time and under investigation.
DATE/TIME STARTED
CAL FIRE Officials state the fire started just before 1600 hours PT this afternoon and when firefighters were responding, they reported a large black column of smoke.

The Lead Fire Agency is CAL FIRE / Riverside County FD Unit.
Incident Cooperators include: CAL FIRE – Riverside County, OCFA PIO, ALERT Wildfire, and Tanker 912.

The fire has burned approximately 500 acres.

Fire behavior appears to be burning with a rapid rate of spread and threatening structures.
