1140 PT – The Fishhawk Loop Fire is located 21 miles southeast of Astoria and northeast of Jewell in the Coast Range, OR, which started on October 14, 2022.

The cause is undetermined. About 120 acres of timber have been lost. There is a 25% containment status. There is NO threat to the Fishhawk community. Fire behavior is moderate. Road closures are in effect.

According to the Clapso County Emergency Management Agency: “The Oregon Department of Forestry has the same amount of resources as they did yesterday out on the line. They are making good progress and hope with the marine onshore flow will bring a higher relative humidity which will help firefighters greatly.”

There are 2 copters working on hotspots on the southerly portion of the fire. Scheduled for tonight will be nightshift operations and fire officials are working to have a plan for fire ops on Monday.

A Type 3 IMT is managing this incident.

Resources: Clatsop County EM and OR Dept. of Forestry.
