The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) based out of Boise, Idaho, received several new reports about two wildfires burning in the State of Tennessee.

Tennessee Department of Forestry (TN DOF) is reporting in regarding the two wildfire incidents listed below as having been sparked in the last 24 hours:

RICHLAND COAL COUNTY ROAD FIRE

Update 1 – November 25, 2022, 2015 hours PT

The RCCR Fire originally ignited on private property, which is located six miles southwest of Montgomery, TN.

Fire is burning in timber and is considered to have an active fire behavior which is running.

The exact cause of the ignition source is unknown at this time.

It has burned about 150 acres and fire resources are reporting they have a 50% containment status.

There are about five total personnel staffing two fire engines.

SMOKEY CREEK ROAD FIRE

Update 1 – November 25, 2022, 2015 hours PT

The Smokey Creek Road Fire also started on private land but this incident is located about seven miles northwest of Clinchmore in Timber.

Fire behavior has been observed as active with running.

There are also five personnel and staffing two fire engines.

Approximately 100 acres have been destroyed and there is a 40% containment status reached.

Addiitonally, this fire has also had a CTD of $1,000.

The cause of this fire is unknown at the time of this update.
