Update 1 – Monday, 1/2/2023, 1558 PT

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Several Scanner Feeds and Social Media became ablaze after reports of several Officers being shot on Morgan Street and 3rd Avenue in Brackenridge (Allegheny County), PA, after the shooter allegedly carjacked a vehicle.

Brackenridge Police held a Presser this afternoon stating the following:

“Officers were seeking to locate the subject in the 800 block of 3rd Avenue in Brackenridge and encountered a foot pursuit. Two officers were shot in two different locations, one in the head and died on the scene and the other in the leg. He was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.”

Multiple police agencies along with their SWAT team are currently searching for the shooter in the downtown area. | UPDATE | 1546 PT. Media now reporting the suspect is now in custody.
