Incident Summary

A wildfire designated as the COPPERHEAD FIRE broke out on Sunday, February 26, 2023, prompting the deployment of fire personnel and equipment with the Oklahoma Forestry Services to be dispatched at 1150 hours.

Location

The fire broke out eight (8) miles northwest of Kansas, Oklahoma.

Size Up

Approximately 12.5 acres burned.

Containment

It was quickly contained on Sunday at 1205 hours.

Cause

No word on the cause of the fire was known.
