Three brush fires broke out this afternoon located on Success Valley Drive and Indian Reservation Drive, about six miles southwest of Springville and just east of Porterville (Tulare County), Mountain 137 Reservation Road, prompting a high number of aircraft to rush to the scene.

Resources included Air Attack 410, Air Tankers 74,76, 78, and 102, as well Helitanker 95B
Two brush fires merged together to form one and were at 50 acres just before 1700 hours this late afternoon with a potential for 100 acres.
The third fire was stopped from burning.
The main fire was stopped at 50 acres and there is a 0% containment status. Fire crews and firefighters were expected to be on the scene for a long extended mop-up operation just after 1800 hours.
Structures were threatened but no evacuations were in effect at the time of this post.
The fire was reported at 1553 hours PT according to CAL FIRE Tulare Unit Officials.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
