The EAST FIRE is burning off of the 24000 block of Round Mountain Road, northeast of Bakersfield (Kern County) in California, which started this afternoon around 1426 hours PT.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.

When it was first reported by CAL FIRE Officials, it had burned about 543 acres, but this evening it is listed as 1,290 acres with a 0% containment status.
