SIT REP 3: AUGUST 5, 2023, SATURDAY, 1630 HOURS PT

The GOLDEN FIRE started on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from an undetermined source sparking a wildfire.

It is located about 18 miles east of Klamath Falls and 11 miles north of Bonanza on Bly Mountain in Klamath County, Oregon.

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, the Oregon State Governor issued a conflagration order (state resource mobilization)

The fire has burned 2,137 acres of short grass, timber, and brush. It has an 85% containment status.

The command transitioned from an ODF Team 2 (Matt Howard, IC) to a Type 4 organization on August 1, 2023.

There is a total of 91 personnel assigned from fire agencies SCOFMG, OR FMO, KCSO, KCOEM, OSP, KCFD, and multiple fire agencies.
