SIT REP 1: August 20, 2023, 1700 hours PDT

INCIDENT SUMMARY. The HAPPY CAMP COMPLEX is burning in Siskiyou County, which has burned approximately 8,410 acres.

The COMPLEX is comprised of 13 wildfires.

Block – 1/100 acres. Canyon – 788 acres. Den Fire – 348 acres. Elliot – 531 acres. Gold – 62 acres. Head – 5,617 acres. Lake – 475 acres. Malone – 66 acres. Scott – 41 acres. Three Creeks – 158 acres. Townsend – 80 acres. Ufish – 243 acres. Lake Fire – 475 acres.

The wildfire started on August 16, 2023, at 1027 hours PDT in the Happy Camp River District near Scott Bar in the Klamath National Forest

FIRE COMMAND. The Incident is Unified Command which includes Klamath National Forest Service and CAL FIRE’s Siskiyou Unit. Fire Management is under the CAIIMT Team 5 (IMT).

RESOURCES. There are approximately 1,261 total personnel assigned along with 91 engines, 17 dozers, 16 water tenders, and 30 crews.
