SIT REP 1: Friday, September 15, 2023, 2210 PDT
The SPETCH CREEK FIRE was discovered on August 29, 2023, (Tuesday) at 0942 hours PDT, which is located in Spetch Creek about 13 kilometers (eight miles) from the community of Pemberton, Birken, Pool Creek, and Hwy 99.
It can be seen more clearly, especially during the night operations.
The cause has been determined to be lightning.
Fire officials say that this wildfire is currently not threatening any structures or infrastructure. It is burning in steep terrain.
Resources currently include two Initial Attack units, one unit crew, and one helicopter.
