The MIDWAY FIRE started on November 12, 2023, at 1506 hours and is burning about 2.5 miles southwest of Fellows Park in San Luis Obispo County, California.

#MidwayFire Historical Fires

August 9, 2023

— Firefighters with the Dixon Fire Department were dispatched on this date to the area of Lewis Road and MIdway Road for a reported fast-moving brush fire near the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.

August 22, 2021

— A brush fire started near the intersection of Midway Avenue x Sherman Way in Lucerne Valley in San Bernardino County, California. It was reported as a quarter-of-an-acre in light fuels, in an ag field, and that the forward rate had been stopped.

June 1, 2021

— Solano Fire was dispatched to a structure fire and was on the scene of a 3rd alarm brush fire on Midway Road x Clement Road in Dixon. Structures were reportedly impacted by fire on June 1, 2021, and the forward progression of the fire was stopped at 1410 hours PDT.

— A fire by the same was burning about five miles east of Horseshoe Lake ignited in the Tonto National Forest and was said to be not showing any fire growth as rain fell over the fireline for the last several days. This was posted by the TNF on July 5, 2021. The fire was reported at 1,762 acres on July 6, 2023.

October 16, 2020

— Brush fire on October 16, 2020, on I80 at Midway and northeast of Vacaville in Solano County. At one time, an engine strike team with the Contra County County Fire Agency was called in for coverage and canceling their dozer. This escalated to a 4-alarm brush fire. Reports of the fire burning in light fuels and impacting lots of ag fields.

March 6, 2020

— On March 6, 2020, CAL FIRE Butte Unit/Butte County Fire Department reported a fire escaped the containment lines of a control burn and caused significant damage. The command of the fire was eventually returned back to the landowner.

December 7, 2019

— A wildfire burning in the 8300 block of Midway was reported on December 7, 2019, at 1144 hours PDT in the community of Durham (Butte County), California. Firefighters with CAL FIRE / Butte County FD responded to the brush fire which burned one structure (damaged). At the time of the last and final report, there was no cause listed and it was still under investigation. Resources included: four engines/trucks, one water tender, three volunteer fire companies, four overhead personnel, and 15 total personnel.

— Alameda County Fire units along with CAL FIRE SCU and LPFD were on the scene of a five-acre brush fire in the center divide of I-580 near Grant Line Road on July 22, 2019.

October 6, 2017

— Another brush fire broke out on I-505 and Midway Road on October 6, 2017, in Solano County, California.

August 14, 2014

— A 2-alarm brush fire burned in the 5100 block of Midway Road around 1857 hours and was said to be around four to five acres on August 14, 2014, in Solano County, California.
