SHEYENNE, WYOMING (USA) — A grass fire broke out earlier today, which was dispatched as burning in the median near mile marker 352 on I-80. This is located about five miles west of Cheyenne.
The fire had extended to near mile marker 358 and WY State Route 225 (Otto Road).
The large grass fire turned wildfire prompted the 9-1-1 emergency communications center to dispatch fire and law enforcement to the area.

The fire spread to nearby dry grass and had become wind-driven by strong winds in the area.
There were many hot spots firefighters had to address and put out.
Wyoming Highway Patrol had multiple road closures, including WY SR225 and I-25 at the Colorado-Wyoming border but would be reopened later.
Local media reported the fire was put out around 1451 hours PST, however about 1915 hours PST, scanner feed indicated the fire had rekindled is located on Otto Road and Roundtop Road. Units have been dispatched and are currently en route to the once-familiar fire ground.
Resources to the first incident (fire) included the WY State Forestry Division, the WY Highway Patrol, and the Department of Transportation.
We have reached out to the State Patrol to see how many acres were burned.
It was unknown what the cause was the first fire.
Injuries to civilians and/or firefighters are unknown at this time.
