LAKE SHORE FIRE

A large fire broke out today in the heavily forested area of Lake Shore in the City of Bessemer, Alabama, and continues to burn even at the time of this post.

Fire crews from Lead Agency, The City of Bessemer FD, with support of local mutual aid from Mcadory Fire and the Alabama Forestry Commission, are working tirelessly to reach all of their fire suppression and containment objectives.

The City of Bessemer’s population remains at 26,171 residents near the cities of Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.


A RED FLAG WARNING has been issued for eight Counties in Southwest Alabama, beginning February 25th, for Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe, and Washington Counties.

WRIGHT LANE FIRE

Yesterday afternoon, a large brush fire on Wright Lane in Childersburg, Alabama, destroyed seven acres and an outbuilding (shed) before firefighters were able to contain the fire. Resources included Lead Fire Agency, Childersburg Fire & Rescue Department along with mutual aid from Sylacauga FD and Lay Lake Fire.

Multiple brush fires have broken out in the past week.

These have occurred in the Beulah Fire Department’s response area, alongside other nearby Fire Departments and it seems to be only growing worse.
