SIT REP 3: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2024, 2220 HOURS PST

INCIDENT SUMMARY
A brush fire we named the Air Force Academy Fire is now officially known as the West Monument Creek Fire. It ignited from an unknown cause around 1300 hours MST (1200 hours PST) on Sunday, February 25th, located just west of the Pine West Housing area and on the eastern border of Pikes National Forest. This prompted an immediate response of two divisions from the U.S. Air Force Academy and Colorado Springs Fire Departments.
CURRENT STATUS
As of 0900 this morning, the fire had consumed up to 168 acres and there was a 20% containment status.
CAUSE
Unknown at this time and is currently being investigated.
