Incident Summary

Reports from multiple media sources and law enforcement agencies are starting to report a major 9-1-1 outage which is said to have started in South Dakota, Nebraska and portions of Nevada are now said to be spreading like wildfire across the United States.

Cause

The cause of the outage is unknown at the time of this post and local, state and impacted agencies are actively investigating.

News Outlets Reporting In

Rawsalerts on Social Media tweeted out the following in how those in the United States are now being impacted: South Dakota and Nebraska (whole states) and portions of Nevada, Texas, Iowa, Florida, Wisconsin, and Kentucky.

9-1-1 Centers Reporting In

Las Vegas Metro PD (NV) – non-emergency line #702-828-3111 or can text to 911. Source: Facebook: LVMPD 911 Communications. They are impacted by the 9-1-1 major emergency call outage. No ETA for their communications center to be restored has been given.

Henderson PD (NV) – Text to 911 is working, as well as RApid SOS. If they can see your phone#, they will call back. No ETA on service restoration.

Aberdeen Police Department (SD) – Statewide 911 outage. Non-emergency phone number (dispatch center) can be reached at 605-626-7911. Texting 911 is also working.

Brown County Sheriffs (SD) Office of Emergency Management – statewide 911 outage. Non-emergency line 605-626-7911 for emergencies. Text to 911 is working.

Fall River County Sheriff’s Office (SD) – The Fall River County Sheriff’s Office based out of Hot Springs, SD is reporting a 911 outage.
